Wow, that was fast: MinnToast launches!

That’s right: A thoughtfully buttered approach to news.
It doesn’t sound like they’ve got 50 former daily newspaper writers on board, though. Or a hundred bajillion dollars.
PS: And no, as someone phoned within two minutes to ask me–you RSS people are like day-traders–the Mole did not have anything to do with creating the site. PPS: No, really. Paul Schmelzer at MinnMon doesn’t even believe me, but as I explained to him, I just got a call from a well-placed source and published exactly what I was told, which is what we professional journalists get the big bucks for doing.

I just don’t know what to say about that.
Wow. ROFL.
And even though some of those things sound like they’re taken straight out of my comments yesterday, I have nothing to do with this. Holy crap.
Well, ok (kicks dirt). It felt like a Steve Perry original.
I just wonder where in the world they got the EXACT SAME FONT? I mean, it’s not like it comes standard with every edition of Word…
oh, wait….
Dig some surface digging in domain reg info… Check the date of purchase:
You have to figure that the first thing you do with a spoof like this is secure the domain name. Then you build it out. Nice hustle there!
It’s pretty funny. We all have our pretensions; hopefully, we can rise above them.
I do think the hidden domain name is chickenshit, though.
The satire is too funny and too brilliant not to have Steve Perry’s paws all over it!
Brilliant.
My latest intel says the parody is not Perry’s. Hmmmm. Who else in our beloved town is funny, brilliant and in the journalism biz? Hmmmm, indeed.
Brilliant indeed! I actually prefer not knowing who it is. It’s far more amusing without petty histories that might shatter the illusion. I like to think Steve Perry is not the only “one” out there (despite his charm). As for Kramer, if he were really as brilliant as [the big] “they” say, he might have been the one to think this up. After all, now we truly have a reason to read MinnPost — to enhance our reading of MinnToast. Hurrah! Kudos.
Sarah, must be C.J. (teehee)
Hmmm… this is interesting! Look at the logos I found at the bottom of this page:

Great sleuthing. I skipped over looking at the actual registrar after I noticed the registrant info was suppressed. But looking at the registrar?? That’s good detective work there. Nice.
Here’s a tip: Don’t use the same host for parody sites. Better yet, just use Blogger if you’re shooting for anonymity.
But you’ll still probably screw it up.
Hey, points to my team for putting MinnToast on the MinnPost front page!
“Copernicus Jones”.
Why didn’t I think of that one?
